Loox is the strongest photo and video review app on Shopify in 2026, and it is free to start: the Beginner plan costs $0 until your store passes 500 total orders. After that the bill follows your order volume, from $49.99 a month on Convert to $299.99 on Unlimited. It is the right pick for brands whose products sell on customer photos. Its requests are email-first and its reviews stay on your store and shopping channels, so brands that also need Trustpilot or Google reviews pair it with a collection tool.
Verdict: the best choice when photos sell your product, as long as you model the bill first. Loox holds a 4.9 rating from 9,760 merchant reviews on the Shopify App Store and carries the Built for Shopify badge. Beginner is free, limited to 500 total orders after the trial and 2,000 review request emails a month. Convert is $49.99 a month with 300 orders included, then $50 for every additional 300 orders. Unlimited is $299.99. Video reviews, Google Shopping, referrals, integrations and removing the Loox branding all start on Convert. Every number below was checked on 4 October 2026.

What Loox is
Loox is a product review app for Shopify built around visual reviews. After an order it emails your customer, asks for a star rating and a photo, and can offer a discount on the next order in exchange for that photo. The reviews then appear on your store in galleries, carousels, popups and a dedicated reviews page. It launched on the Shopify App Store on October 16, 2015, and its App Store listing shows 9,760 merchant reviews, 94 percent of them five stars. On its pricing page the company says it helps more than 130,000 brands and 3,000 Shopify Plus stores.

The idea is simple. A shopper trusts a photo taken in a real home or on a real person more than a paragraph of praise, and Loox designs every step around getting that photo and showing it well. Our collection of product review examples shows what strong visual reviews look like.
Loox pricing in 2026
Loox has three plans. Older articles, including some of ours, still describe Loox as an app with no free plan. That is out of date: the listing now shows Beginner as free.
| Plan | Price | Order allowance | What the App Store listing includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | Free | Up to 500 total orders after the trial, 2,000 review request emails a month | Review request emails and reminders, discounts for photo reviews, 17+ widgets, Google rich snippets and schema, social posts and stories from reviews, Shop app syndication, 24/7 chat and email support |
| Convert | $49.99 per month, 14-day free trial | 300 orders a month included, then $50 per additional 300 orders | AI smart sorting, highlights, summaries, review stories, translations and replies, video reviews, reviews on product bundles, referrals, Google, Meta and TikTok syndication, integrations, API access and webhooks |
| Unlimited | $299.99 per month, 14-day free trial | No order or email quota | Unlimited access to all features, priority support |

Charges are billed in USD through your Shopify invoice every 30 days. Loox states on its pricing page that there is no annual commitment and that you can cancel at any time.
What Loox costs as your orders grow
The Convert plan is where the pricing needs a calculator. Loox's help article on its monthly quota explains the rule: 300 orders a month are included in the $49.99 base price, and each additional block of 300 orders is added automatically for a $50 usage fee. Here is what that rule gives at each volume. The Convert figures are our own arithmetic from that rule, not a quote from Loox.
| Order volume | Loox | Judge.me | Junip |
|---|---|---|---|
| First 500 orders in total | $0 (Beginner) | $0 (Forever Free) | $0 (Free) |
| Up to 300 a month | $49.99 (Convert) | $15 (Awesome) | $29 (Core) or $79 (Growth) |
| 301 to 600 | $99.99 | $15 | $29 or $79 |
| 601 to 900 | $149.99 | $15 | $29 or $79 |
| 901 to 1,200 | $199.99 | $15 | $29 or $79 |
| 1,201 to 1,500 | $249.99 | $15 | $29 or $79 |
| Above 1,500 a month | $299.99 (Unlimited) | $15 | $29 or $79 |
Two things stand out. Past 1,500 orders a month the Convert formula reaches the price of Unlimited, so Unlimited becomes the plan to be on. And the two closest rivals do not charge by order at all: Judge.me is flat at $15 and Junip prices by feature set, with unlimited orders on every plan.
What the Beginner plan really covers
According to the plan comparison on Loox's pricing page and its Beginner plan article, the free plan includes:
- Photo reviews with a discount incentive. The core of Loox is available at $0. Check the rules on offering discounts for reviews before you set the incentive.
- Review request emails and reminders. Up to 2,000 review request emails a month. Beyond that, Loox pauses and queues them until the next cycle. Reminder emails do not count against the quota.
- Display widgets. The popup, carousels, star ratings, snippets, the trust badge, the sidebar and a dedicated reviews page.
- Rich snippets. The markup that makes stars eligible to show in Google results, explained in our review schema markup guide.
- QR codes and review links. Useful for packaging inserts and in-person sales. Our free review QR code generator makes a standalone code in seconds.
- Imports. From other review apps and from a spreadsheet.
The ceiling is the part to read twice. The 500 orders are a total, counted from the end of your trial, not a monthly allowance. Once your store has passed 500 orders, Loox says the Beginner plan is no longer available and you are prompted to upgrade to Convert. A store doing 100 orders a month has about five months of free Loox.
Everything in the next section is missing from Beginner too.
What Convert adds for $49.99
Convert is the full product:
- Video reviews and reviews on product bundles.
- The AI suite. Smart sorting that puts the most engaging customer visuals first, highlights, summaries, review stories, translations and suggested replies.
- Referrals. On-site, post-purchase and post-review referral offers.
- Syndication. Google Shopping, Meta Shops and TikTok Shop. Loox states on its pricing page that it is an official Google reviews partner.
- Integrations. Klaviyo, Omnisend, PushOwl, AfterShip, Weglot, loyalty apps and Shopify Flow, plus API access and webhooks.
- Control over the look. Custom questions, product grouping and removal of the Loox branding.
- Delivery-based timing. Requests scheduled on the real delivery date. Our data on the best time to send a review request shows why that matters.
Loox pros
It is built for photos. Collection, incentives and widgets all point at the same goal: getting a customer photo and displaying it well. For fashion, beauty, home and gift brands, that focus is the reason to choose it.
It is free to start. A new store pays nothing until it has passed 500 orders.
Merchants rate it very highly. A 4.9 average across 9,760 reviews is a strong signal. Shopify's own summary of those reviews highlights photo and video reviews, customizable widgets and fast support, and the listing includes 24/7 chat and email support even on the free plan.
Loox cons and limits
The bill follows your orders. A store at 1,000 orders a month pays $199.99 on Convert by the quota rule above. A flat-priced app costs the same at 300 orders and at 3,000.
The free plan ends. Beginner is tied to your first 500 orders, so plan for the day you move to $49.99 a month.
Video and Google Shopping are paid. The features that visual brands and advertisers want most sit on Convert, along with the Klaviyo integration and removal of the Loox branding.
Requests are email-first. Loox sends its own requests by email, with QR codes and review links for offline moments, and web push through PushOwl on Convert. SMS and WhatsApp requests are not among the collection methods on its App Store listing. If your customers do not open email, your review rate will reflect that. Our benchmarks on the average review submission rate show how much the channel matters.
Everyone gets the same public flow. A delighted customer and a frustrated one receive the same request and land on the same form. There is no step that asks how the order went first and gives an unhappy buyer a private way to reach you.
It is an on-site review tool. Loox fills your product pages and syndicates to shopping channels. On its listing and pricing page we found no flow that sends happy buyers to Trustpilot or to your Google Business Profile, which is where shoppers look when they search your brand name.
Is Loox legit?
Yes. Loox has been on the Shopify App Store since 2015, holds the Built for Shopify badge, and bills through Shopify's own invoicing. For merchants, the legitimacy question is settled.
Shoppers ask a different version of the question: can I trust reviews shown in a Loox widget? Loox publishes a review integrity and fraud prevention policy. It describes a zero-tolerance position on fake or manipulated reviews, detection that combines automated systems and manual checks, and penalties that go up to suspending a merchant's account. Keep in mind that Loox lets merchants reward a photo review with a discount on a future order, so read the photos and the recent reviews, not only the average.

| Store above 1,500 orders a month | Unlimited at $299.99, or compare flat-priced options in our Loox alternatives for Shopify. |

Where Reviewz fits next to Loox
Reviewz does not replace Loox. Loox is where photo reviews live on your product pages, and it does that job better than we do. Reviewz decides how each customer is asked and builds your reputation outside your own store.
After an order, Reviewz asks every customer for a rating over WhatsApp, SMS and email. Customers who answer 4 or 5 stars are sent to the public site you choose, which can be Trustpilot, Google or Judge.me. Everyone else is offered a private feedback form, so you hear about the problem directly and can fix it. More than 350 Shopify stores use it, and it has collected over 300,000 reviews.
It is free to start. The Starter plan is $59 a month for up to 250 orders, Growth is $119 and Unlimited is $299, all on the pricing page. If Loox already gives you the photo reviews you want and your brand does not depend on Trustpilot or Google, you do not need it. If it does, the side-by-side on our Loox alternative page shows how the two differ.

Keep Loox for photo reviews on your product pages. Let Reviewz ask every customer over WhatsApp, SMS and email.

Yes, to start. The Beginner plan is free and supports up to 500 total orders counted from the end of your trial, with up to 2,000 review request emails a month. Once your store has passed 500 orders, the plan is no longer available and Loox prompts you to upgrade to Convert at $49.99 a month.
How much does Loox cost in 2026?
Loox costs $0 on Beginner, $49.99 a month on Convert and $299.99 a month on Unlimited, billed in USD through Shopify every 30 days. Convert includes 300 orders a month, and each additional block of 300 orders adds a $50 usage fee. Both paid plans come with a 14-day free trial.
Is Loox legit?
Yes. Loox launched on the Shopify App Store in October 2015, carries the Built for Shopify badge and holds a 4.9 rating from 9,760 merchant reviews as of October 2026. It also publishes a review integrity and fraud prevention policy.
Does Loox send review requests by SMS or WhatsApp?
Loox sends its own requests by email, and offers QR codes and review links for offline moments. SMS and WhatsApp requests are not among the collection methods on its Shopify App Store listing. Stores that want WhatsApp requests add a separate collection tool such as Reviewz.
Is Loox better than Judge.me?
It depends on what sells your product. Loox is stronger for photo and video reviews and visual widgets. Judge.me is far cheaper, at $0 or a flat $15 a month whatever your order volume. Visual brands tend to choose Loox, and stores that mainly need ratings and text reviews choose Judge.me.
