How it Works

Embed Trustpilot on Shopify in 60 seconds

Trustpilot does have an official Shopify app, but it requires a paid Trustpilot plan to install. This generator outputs a free Liquid section that embeds the same TrustBox widgets directly into your theme, with theme-editor settings for colors, padding, and language. No paid plan required, just your Business Unit ID.

Pick your widget style and language

Choose from 6 official TrustBox layouts (carousel, grid, horizontal, micro-star, mini or slider), and select one of 7 languages. Type your Trustpilot domain and pick a light or dark theme.

Copy the ready-to-install section

One click copies a complete .liquid file with theme settings, Business Unit ID, and lazy-loaded Trustpilot script. No manual formatting needed.

Paste into your Shopify theme

In your admin: Online Store → Themes → Edit code, add a new section called trustpilot-reviews and paste. The section now appears in the Theme Editor with customizable settings. See also: Trustpilot pricing for Shopify.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

Does Trustpilot work with Shopify?
Yes, in two ways. Trustpilot's official Shopify app handles automatic review invites after orders, but it requires a paid Trustpilot plan (Standard or above). To simply display your existing Trustpilot reviews on your Shopify storefront, you don't need their app at all. A Liquid section with the public TrustBox widgets is enough, and that's exactly what this generator produces.
Why use this instead of Trustpilot's official Shopify app?
Three reasons. First, this is free and works on any Trustpilot plan, including the free tier. Second, you control the section code so you can customize layout, padding, and even add conditional logic (show only on certain product collections). Third, it loads with async + defer so it doesn't hurt your Core Web Vitals like some plug-and-play apps do.
Will this affect my Core Web Vitals score?
No, not if you place the script tag correctly. The generated code uses async + defer attributes on the Trustpilot bootstrap script, which means the browser can parse and render your page without waiting for the widget. You can verify this with Lighthouse or PageSpeed Insights after installation.
I've heard Trustpilot has fake reviews. Should I still use it?
Trustpilot reviews aren't perfect, but for established stores with hundreds of reviews, statistical averaging makes the score reliable. The bigger issue for new stores is having too few Trustpilot reviews. Reviewz.ai solves this on Shopify by automatically inviting happy customers to leave Trustpilot reviews after delivery, while privately catching unhappy ones before they post a 1-star.
